The down and dirty…. 3 heat wins, 2 feature wins & 1 feature rain out
Can’t believe we won every race we were in this weekend… wow. The weekend started on Friday 6-4-10 with a trip up to the Geographical Center Speedway. Scott started 4th in the 2nd heat. Scott grab the early lead and won the heat. The 20 lap feature was pretty tacky. Scott started in the 5th position of the 20 lap feature. Scott got the lead on about lap 4 and kept it the rest of the race. There were a number of cautions and #97 Jim Morlock, who started 13th was hot on his trail but had to settle for 2nd as Scott drove theDakota Engine BuilderspoweredMillenium Nightmare Chassisinto victory lane.
On Saturday 6-5-10, we headed to our home track, the Jamestown Speedway. Scott started 8th in the heat and powered his way up to the front for a heat win. He did get a little help with one of the early leaders spinning out. All the heat races were ran and then mother nature gave us a good rain storm. The make up feature will be 6-19-10 as well as the previous makeup feature.
The weekend ended with a trip to the Sheyenne River Speedwayon Sunday 6-6-10. Scott drew 99 and had to start and the back of the pack in the last heat. After a hard fought battle with 24x Steve Ost, Scott grabbed the lead with about 3 laps to go and won the heat. After the redraw, Scott was lined up in the 5th starting spot of the feature. Scott slowly worked his way up and raced side by side #71 Nate Reinke for several laps until he got the lead on lap 7 working the low groove. There was 1 caution with 10 laps to go. On the re-start, #15 Flyin Ryan Mikkelson got the lead in corner 1 and 2, but Scott got in back in corner 3 and 4 and kepted it the last 9 laps and captured his first Wissota Midwest Modified win at the Sheyenne River Speedway making it the Scott Bintz Racing team’s 4th feature win of the 2010 season.

We planned to race the Tri-County Speedway in Wishek on Friday, then Jamestown on Saturday and a trip up to Bottineau on Sunday. However, the weather changed our plans a bit. On Friday afternoon right about the time Scott finished changing gears for Tri-County, we got the word it was cancelled due to rain. We decided to head to Fargo to be fans for the night and watch the races there. It was a fast track with alot of action. On Saturday, Jamestown got rained out so we went to the Movie GI Joe with the kids.
On Sunday August 9th we head up to Bottineau to race. 14 Wissota Midwest Modifeds showed up for the season championship at the Thunder Mountain Speedway in Bottineau, ND. It was Scott first time this year at the track. The track staff, fans and racers were very friendly and provided a great night of racing. Scott started outside pole of the first heat.He got the lead on the first lap and won by about a 1/2 track after a 10 lap heat. For the trophy dash, Scott started 6th and finished 3rd. Brent Perleberg won the trophy dash. For the feature, Scott started on pole and got the early lead and held it for all 20 laps. The track was turning into dry slick as the race went on.There were a number of cautions and Scott was able to hang onto the lead his 4th feature win of the Season. Brent Perleberg finished 2nd followed by Jeff Hooker. Jim Morlock won the Season Championship for the track.
We stayed over night at Lake Metigoshe located in the Turtle Mountains about 5 miles from Bottineau. What a beautiful place to camp.
The weekend of June 4th, 2009 started with a trip up to the Geographical Center Speedway in Rugby, ND. Scott started the heat in 4th and took the lead in about 2 laps and won the heat. The track was a little sloppy with some tack. In the feature, Scott started 10th. Within a few laps Scott made it to 3rd. A few more laps later and he got the lead. With about 2 laps to go, there was a caution by a tail end car. On the restart Scott kept the lead on the first lap, with one lap to go, coming out of corner two, the car push a bit and Scott lost the lead. Jim Morlock won the Race and Scott Bintz finished second. If you have been counting, that’s the 3rd time we have lost the lead in Rugby on a caution, with 2 laps to go. We skipped Saturday and made it a movie night since the Jamestown Speedway was rained out. On Sunday, at BRRP (Buffalo River Race Park) in Glyndon, MN, we drew 174 out of 200. Wasnt looking the best for a good starting position. Scott was in the 3rd Midwest Modified heat of the night in the 5th spot for the heat. After a few laps, he moved in the 3rd and finished the race there. It was a tracky track and pretty much follow the leader. For the feature, Scott started 4th. The track was a little tacky but turned to dry slick pretty fast. There were a few caution the first couple of laps. After the race got going, Scott took the lead on about lap 7. With 3 laps to go, there was a caution. On the restart, Scott kept the lead. Yes, can you guess it? with 1 lap to go, Scott was running the high side most of the race, got passed by Travis Saurer on a semi clean slide job from the bottom of the track and Scott finished the race 2nd. However, two 2nd place feature finishes in a weekend of pretty good for 1s Scott Bintz Racing Team. The last time we did got two 2nd place finishes this season, we won the next race. Stay tuned.
