Back in Action Thanks Specialty Fabricating J-Car

Wrecked in Lisbon: On Tuesday,  September 1st, we headed down to the Sheyenne River Speedway in Lisbon, ND for championship night.  Started in the 3rd position of the heat and  moved into 2nd pretty quick.  Tried chasing down the leader but wasn’t able to make a pass.  For the feature, started in the same position as it was a straight up race. Moved into 2nd and was running down the leader.  There was a few cautions in the first few laps.  On the restart, I picked low and was on the inside lane side by side the leader coming out of turn 2.    The leader pulled away a bit and coming out of corner four, I was hit pretty hard in the rear and pushed into the wall. I think I was on 2 wheels from the flag stand to the end of the wall.  Another driver was called for the caution.  After the a stop in the pits and a tire change, got back out on the track.  The car was in pretty rough shape but made it back to 7th or 8th.  (Not sure of official results yet).   After we got the car home we realized the entire rear section of the car and fuel cell was destroyed.   The rear clip was barely hanging on to the chassis.  On a positive note, Ryan Mikkelson, who is also sponsored by RealTruck.Com, came from tail end in the feature and won the race along with the track championship.

Fixed By J-Car: I really thought I might be done for the season and certainly wouldn’t be racing the Jamestown Speedway’s Labor Day Double Header this coming weekend.  However, on Thursday, Mitch Johnson and the crew at Specialty Fabricating J-Car in Fargo, ND said they would fix it it and have it done by Friday afternoon, provided we got the race car down to them ASAP.  Matt dropped off the car around Noon on Thursday.  The J-Car race car crew went to work and true to their word, the entire rear clip was replaced, a new fuel cell install, new nerf bars and new side tin.   On Friday afternoon at 3:30 we were back in business.  WOW, they literally fixed everything.  Well, not everything, my only task was to zip tie the fuel line, install a new brake line, replace a bent shock and find some decals.   All I can say is

THANK YOU  J-Car!!! 

oh, on the decals, Mike at RoughRider Signs, was also kind enough to make some quick decals for the race car on short notice as well.
